This past Saturday we went to The Santa Ana Zoo's "Boo at the Zoo" trick-or-treat event. It was @babyofawis' first time trick-or-treating so we figured that this event was perfect for her... get to see a few animals, walk around in a safe environment, and hopefully go home with a bag of goodies.
The $14 admission cost per person (for non-members, children under 2 enter for free) is almost not worth it if it was not for the few Disney sponsored gifts (books and Mickey Mouse pail)... by the time the event starts (5:30pm), most of the animals are already sleeping (or hiding) so you do not really get to enjoy much of the zoo. Plus the zoo is incredibly small... their main attraction seems to be their 50 monkeys, which we did get to see a few of them and I somehow managed to take photos of everything but a monkey.
All-in-all, I think our daughter had fun seeing some of the animals in person for the first time (we plan to take her to the San Diego Zoo next month for her birthday so hopefully she enjoys that too), trick-or-treating for the first time, and coming home with a few Disney books.
If you are interested in going to this event, they have one last day this coming Thursday October 30, 2014.
